    Luke Campbell's Miami group built Miami bass out of fast tempos, explicit lyrics, and relentless 808 kick patterns, starting with 1986's 'Throw The D.' Four years later, a federal judge declared their album As Nasty as They Wanna Be legally obscene, a ruling 2 Live Crew overturned on appeal in a case that became a First Amendment landmark for hip-hop.
