Miami group led by Luke Campbell that pioneered Miami bass music with fast tempos, explicit lyrics, and relentless 808 kick patterns starting with 1986's "Throw The D," then fought a landmark First Amendment case when their album As Nasty as They Wanna Be was declared legally obscene by a federal judge in 1990, winning on appeal and establishing legal protections for explicit content in hip-hop that would benefit every Southern artist who followed, proving that the South's confrontational approach to sexuality and language could survive legal challenges and reshape the boundaries of acceptable expression in popular music.
