Artists from Osaka
- Boredoms
Yamantaka Eye formed Boredoms in Osaka in 1986 out of the wreckage of his previous project, Hanatarash, and pushed the band from violent punk thrashings on Soul Discharge (1989) toward the hypnotic tribal drumming spectacles of Vision Creation Newsun (1999).
- Hanatarash
Before Boredoms, there was Yamantaka Eye's Hanatarash, a project less interested in songs than in genuine physical danger.
- Incapacitants
Toshiji Mikawa formed Incapacitants in Osaka in 1981 as a solo offshoot of his work in Hijokaidan, and Fumio Kosakai joined after the project moved to Tokyo.
