Artists from Cleveland

  • Nine Inch Nails

Trent Reznor grew up in rural Pennsylvania and then in what he has called "the arse end of Ohio," raised by his grandparents after his parents' divorce, in a pre-internet, pre-MTV world with no college radio and nothing much to plug into (as he told Louder in 2005).

  • Dead Boys

Cleveland transplants who followed the Ramones east after meeting them in Youngstown, the Dead Boys turned CBGB into their New York home base.
