Scientist
Born Hopeton Brown, he came up as King Tubby's protégé and carried dub into the 1980s with albums built around science fiction, horror movies, and space travel. He has been outspoken about royalties, alleging companies including Greensleeves released his tracks without proper artist contracts. Active since 1979, he later moved into designing electronic gear and founded dubmusic.com, an online community for dub and reggae listeners.
