Artist
Nile Rodgers
Nile Rodgers co-founded Chic with Bernard Edwards in 1977, bringing with him a rhythm-guitar approach, tight and muted, that players call "chucking," a percussive technique that became one of disco's most recognizable textures. His route into that sound ran through years playing in touring and session bands steeped in funk and Black band culture, an apprenticeship that gave him the discipline to build tracks fast and precisely once Chic started recording.
