1990-2005·London

London duo who blended shoegaze atmospherics with electronic production and techno elements on their 1991 debut Doppelgänger, offering a darker, more industrial take on the sound. They represented shoegaze's more experimental edge, incorporating drum machines and electronic textures alongside the requisite walls of guitar. Active through the genre's rise and fall, they lasted until 2005, outlasting most of their shoegaze peers by adapting their sound while retaining the core aesthetic.
