Sheffield trio formed in 1973, contemporaries of Throbbing Gristle. They incorporated musique concrète, tape loops, synthesizers, drawing influence from Burroughs, Ballard, and Kraftwerk. Early signings to Industrial Records, they represented industrial's more dance-oriented, experimental electronic side. They dissolved in 1994 before reforming in 2009, continuing to explore the intersection of industrial noise and electronic rhythm.
