70s Dub Reggae
Start here · 1968-1980

One of the first instrumental reggae albums, it proved instrumentals could sell, clearing the path for dub itself.

Engineered by Errol Thompson at Randy's Studio 17 in 1970, this is one of the first strictly instrumental reggae albums ever made, built on inventive studio effects work. It proved instrumental tracks could stand on their own commercially, clearing a path for dub's emergence as a genre in its own right.
