Walsall

UK

Walsall appears in 1 Songsheets issue: 90s UK Jungle and Drum & Bass. One artist in the archive came from here: Goldie.

Walsall punches far above its weight as the unlikely home of Goldie during his formative years, where the future Metalheadz founder develops his artistic sensibilities before relocating to London. The West Midlands town's breakbeat and hardcore scene in the early 1990s provides Goldie with his entry point into the culture, though the genre's major innovations occur after his move to the capital.
