Milwaukee appears in 1 Songsheets issue: 90s Midwest Emo. One artist in the archive came from here: The Promise Ring.

Milwaukee sits just north of Chicago, serving as a regular tour stop and secondary hub where bands from Illinois connect with Wisconsin's independent music community. The city's DIY venues and promoters help circulate the developing Midwest emo sound throughout the broader Great Lakes region during the mid-to-late 1990s. Though not as central as Champaign-Urbana or Chicago, Milwaukee provides crucial touring infrastructure and audience development for bands spreading beyond their immediate geographic origins.
