Savatage

Though progressive metal rather than death metal, Savatage from Tarpon Springs was Morrisound's early client, establishing the studio's technical credibility before the death metal wave arrived. The Morris brothers opened Morrisound in 1981, and Savatage's success helped them develop the recording techniques later applied to extreme music. The band was present at the May 2025 ceremony when Hillsborough County installed a historical marker at Morrisound's original Temple Terrace location.
