Excuse 17

1993-1995·Olympia

Excuse 17 was Carrie Brownstein's band before Sleater-Kinney, a raw three-piece that toured the riot grrrl circuit in the early nineties and lived out the movement's DIY ethos onstage night after night. They disbanded in 1995, and Brownstein moved almost immediately into forming Sleater-Kinney with Corin Tucker, carrying the sound and the politics into their next form.
