Munich commune-turned-band who merged psychedelic rock with experimental and ethnic music influences, representing krautrock's more overtly political wing. Their sprawling, improvisatory albums came from the same '68 movement that spawned Can and Kraftwerk, but they maintained stronger ties to communal living and leftist politics.
