Thomas Bangalter's side project with Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond released "Music Sounds Better With You" in 1998, a global hit that became one of French house's most recognizable tracks. Built on a sample of Chaka Khan's "Fate," the song exemplified the filtered loop technique at its most accessible: a single disco fragment, processed and looped, became an anthem. The project was short-lived—essentially a one-off—but the track's influence persisted, proving French Touch could dominate pop charts while staying true to the filtered disco aesthetic. The song's success demonstrated that the French approach to sampling—celebrating sources openly rather than hiding them—could work on a massive commercial scale.
