Stardust
Thomas Bangalter teamed up with Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond for a single, near-mythical release: "Music Sounds Better With You," 1998, built around a sample of Chaka Khan's "Fate." The track distilled the filtered-loop technique to its purest form—one disco fragment, chopped and processed until it became something new and undeniable. Stardust never made a full album and barely existed as a going concern, but the song became one of the most recognizable products of the entire French house era, proof that the movement's studio tricks could translate into a genuine pop phenomenon.
