Macintosh Plus (Ramona Langley)

2009-present

Ramona Langley made Floral Shoppe (2011) under the Macintosh Plus alias, and it became vaporwave's defining statement almost by accident, propelled as much by Anthony Fantano's dismissive 4/10 review as by anything printed in a more flattering write-up. The cover did the rest of the work: a bust of Helios, the Twin Towers rendered in gridlines, bright pink Japanese text spelling the artist name in fullwidth characters.
